At Next Gen Active CIC, we are dedicated to enhancing young people’s and families’ well-being in Halesowen and the surrounding areas. Our mission is to foster physical health, mental well-being, and a deep connection to nature through various programmes while addressing social challenges such as gang involvement and knife crime.
Our Programmes:
Martial Arts and Physical Activities
We offer martial arts training that combines physical fitness with discipline, mindfulness, and teamwork. These sessions are designed to build confidence, resilience, and a lifelong appreciation for movement—key qualities that help young people make positive choices and avoid negative influences. In addition to martial arts, our programmes include holiday activity clubs, ensuring engaging options for all.
Gang Prevention and Youth Safety
We recognise the increasing risks young people face regarding gang culture and knife crime. Through our leadership, martial arts, and mentoring programmes, we educate teenagers about the dangers of gang involvement and provide them with positive alternatives. By fostering discipline, respect, and self-belief, we help young people develop the skills to resist peer pressure and make choices that lead to safer, brighter futures.
Mental Health Support
Recognising the intrinsic link between physical activity and mental health, we integrate well-being strategies into all our activities. Our approach is informed by initiatives like the Nature for Health programme, which emphasises the positive impact of nature-based activities on mental health. Creating a supportive environment gives young people the tools to manage stress, anxiety, and social pressures healthily.
Nature Engagement
We believe in nature’s therapeutic benefits. Our outdoor programmes encourage participants to engage with the natural environment, promoting mental health and well-being. This approach aligns with findings that increased exposure to nature can lead to significant health improvements, fostering a sense of peace and connection that helps steer young people away from harmful influences.
Community Inclusion
We are committed to inclusivity, ensuring that our activities are accessible to all, regardless of background or ability. By bringing communities together through movement, mentorship, and nature, we aim to create healthier, safer futures for individuals and the wider community.
Through our work, we strive to empower young people with the confidence, skills, and support networks needed to choose positive pathways in life, away from violence and crime.
